SUPPORT continues to pour in for victims of the gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights with more organisations stepping in to help.

Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd provided RM3,000 in cash each to 100 households affected by the April 1 incident.

Its co-chief executive officer Chai Keng Wai said the management had decided to chip in and support affected families.

“We believe in the importance of care, compassion and looking out for one another, especially in times of crisis.

“When tragedy strikes, it is the unity and strength of the community that helps light the path forward.

“We are honoured to stand with the victims during this difficult time,” he said during a cheque presentation event at Putra Heights LRT station.

Also present were Transport Minister Anthony Loke and Berjaya Group founder Tan Sri Vincent Tan, with the latter also presenting RM3,000 each to 300 families.

Chai said seeing the nation come together during challenging times reflected the company’s values.

“We believe in building hope, extending compassion and standing with our fellow Malaysians when it matters most.

“Supporting those in need is a reflection of our Malaysian spirit.

“It is our hope that these contributions can give some relief to the affected families during the recovery process,” said Chai.

The fire at the gas pipeline injured more than 100 people, with a total of 87 houses destroyed while 148 more sustained damage but were deemed structurally safe to occupy following repairs.
