An EDUCATIONAL institution in Bandar Sri Sendayan, Negri Sembilan, is celebrating 10 years of providing quality education to the community.

Situated on an 8.1ha campus in the satellite township near Seremban, Adcote Matrix Malaysia comprises an international school with students aged five to 18, and a private school offering the Malaysian national curriculum at both primary and secondary levels.

Speaking at the celebration held at the township, Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd founder and group executive deputy chairman Datuk Seri Lee Tian Hock shared his vision that led to the institution’s establishment.

Lee founded the school to provide locals with accessible international education, inspired by his humble upbringing.

“Growing up in a poor family, I realised that education was the only way to empower oneself, gain knowledge and create a better life to support one’s family.

“The school was established for the Negri Sembilan community, particularly in Seremban and Bandar Sri Sendayan, to enjoy the privilege of affordable international and private education within their vicinity,” he said.

Lee, who presented long service awards to 46 staff who had served at the school since its inauguration a decade ago, also shared his aspirations for the school’s future.

“Looking ahead, my vision is to see the school continue to nurture children who not only excel academically but also contribute to society.

“My ultimate dream is to see a student from our school achieve something extraordinary, perhaps even win a Nobel Prize or rise to become a distinguished leader or corporate visionary,” he said.

Formerly Matrix Global Schools, the institution was renamed in 2023 after a collaboration with Ray Education Group.

Adcote Matrix principal Dr Jack Chou said the school had undergone tremendous growth and transformation over the past decade.

“Our examination results for both private and international schools have remained consistently strong, with last year marking the best in our history,” he said.

Chou said students continued to excel across various fields, winning awards in local and international competitions including in music, science, language and sports.

He added that the next decade would be defined by the school’s commitment to becoming a School of Excellence, one that upheld academic distinction, fostered student leadership and nurtured individuals of strong moral character.

Negri Sembilan industrialisation and non-Muslim affairs committee chairman Teo Kok Seong, who was present at the event, congratulated the school on its anniversary and achievements.

He said a strong, equitable education system not only uplifted individuals but also strengthened the fabric of the nation by fostering unity and shared progress.

Also present was Ray Education Group chief executive officer James Hu.

The event was made livelier with musical and dance performances by students, a cake-cutting ceremony, science and art fairs and the sealing of a time capsule containing school memorabilia.
