Vibrant performances by a drum troupe,

DARK clouds loomed but did not dampen the excitement and enthusiasm at Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur.

Against the backdrop of the iconic Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad, a stage came alive as a troupe of dancers clad in colourful costumes burst onto the scene.

All around, cameras clicked away as visitors – both Malaysians and foreign tourists – eagerly captured the spectacle.

The Kuala Lumpur Prosperity Celebration was organised by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) in conjunction with Chinese New Year and Federal Territories Day.

It was attended by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Dr Zaliha Mustafa and Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri Maimunah Mohd Sharif, who also participated in tossing yee sang to mark the festivities.
