IN CONJUNCTION with the upcoming Chinese New Year, Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) handed out essentials and financial aid to 50 underprivileged families.

The event, in collaboration with Shah Alam Residents Representative Council (MPP) and Selangor’s Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU), was held at Dewan Bunga Merak in Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh.

Each family received a hamper worth RM170 and RM100 ang pow.

“All recipients were from the B40 group, senior citizens, single mothers, urban poor, people with disabilities and underprivileged residents who live in Shah Alam,” said MBSA acting deputy secretary (Management) Norhisham Mohammad, who launched the event.

“Our collaboration also serves as part of MBSA’s community engagement efforts to foster unity, friendship and good relations between MBSA employees and the local community.

Also present were MBSA councillors Tengku Ahmad Tengku Kasim, Zulnizam Shahrani and Nur Yusmi Md Yusop, and MBSA Community Development director Shahrin Ahmad.
