College group fetes 269 graduates in Shah Alam

MSU Group of Colleges (MSUC) held its 28th convocation ceremony for 269 graduates at Chancellor Hall, Management and Science University (MSU) main campus in Shah Alam, Selangor.

At the event, 125 graduates received their diplomas and 144 their certificates across 16 academic programmes.Seven students were given special excellence awards, with Muhammad Taqiuddin Rashidan (management diploma, MSU College Seremban) bagging the President’s Gold Award.

Taqiuddin, who was named President’s Award winner for four consecutive semesters and served as Student Representative Council vice-president, is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Capital Management at MSU Learning Centre Seremban, Negri Sembilan.Farisha Iwan Zulkarnain of MSU College Terengganu, Muhammad Faiq Fadzli of MSU College Sungai Petani in Kedah and Rimesha Sri Paremesvaran of MSU College Seremban each received an Academic Award in the diploma category.

Award recipients in the certificate category were Thavaanithan Sundralingam, Nur Atikah Rapiee and Angelena Florence Vadivel of MSU College Shah Alam.

Throughout its 10 colleges nationwide, the group emphasises two central domains – its School of Science and Technology and School of Hospitality, Education and Business Studies.

MSU and MSUC president and founder Prof Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid said today’s institutions of higher education should not only focus on knowledge but also emphasise character building.

“We want to create high-value graduates that have a holistic and well-rounded education with a balance of knowledge and soft skills,” he said.
