THE 34th Management and Science University (MSU) convocation saw 2,447 graduates from 126 academic programmes receiving their scrolls.
The ceremony, hosted at the MSU Chancellor Hall in Section 13, Shah Alam, honoured 35 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) graduates, 65 Master’s degree recipients, 1,596 Bachelor’s degree achievers and 751 diploma holders.
The Business Management and Professional Studies Faculty celebrated the highest number of graduates, totalling 677.
The Information Sciences and Engineering Faculty (FISE) stood out with the largest variety of programmes, numbering 28. This time around, it produced 423 graduates.
The School of Education and Social Sciences celebrated 496 graduates and the School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA) honoured 309 students.
The Health and Life Sciences Faculty (FHLS) awarded scrolls to 189, the School of Pharmacy saw 103 graduands and the International Medical School graduated 206.
The Graduate School of Management and School of Graduate Studies at the Postgraduate Centre presented 32 and 12 graduates respectively.
The Master in International Event Management programme at the Graduate School of Management presented its first graduating cohort.
Achieving this milestone as well was the FHLS, which presented honours bachelor degrees in Halal Quality Assurance, Occupational Safety and Health as well as Environmental Health.
The FISE also saw its first graduates from the honours bachelor degree programme in Information Management.
Additionally, 53 graduates were recognised under the five Best Students categories.
The Chancellor Gold Medal Award was presented to Che Ku Nur Afiqah Che Ku Hashim, a Bachelor in Culinary Arts honours graduate from SHCA.
The President’s Award celebrated two graduates for their achievements in extracurricular activities, leadership, entrepreneurship and sports.
They are Hariharan Vathemurthy, a Forensic Science honours graduate and Kiong Wei Yi, who also received a Diploma in Ophthalmic Dispensing.
The Mohd Shukri Yajid Outstanding Award was conferred upon Eizah Eriyana Suzare, an Outdoor Recreation Management honours graduate.
The inaugural Lifelong Learning Award was presented to Chung Hwee Lian, a Diploma in Games Design and Animation graduate.
Additionally, 25 graduates were honoured with the Academic Award while 23 received the Industry Award. These recognitions were given to both diploma and degree recipients.
The convocation was attended by Raja Muda of Kedah and MSU chancellor Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Sultan Sallehuddin.
MSU president and founder Prof Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid delivered the presidential address.
Also present was MSU vice-chancellor Prof Puan Sri Dr Junainah Abd Hamid.
