Kuala Langat council demolishes illegal structure at Bandar Saujana Putra

MPKL’s operation to demolish the toilet at Jalan SP6/3.

A washroom built on government reserve land without approval has been demolished by Kuala Langat Municipal Council (MPKL).

In a statement, MPKL said the washroom and waiting area, built on land off Jalan SP6/3 at Bandar Saujana Putra, was demolished under Section 46 of Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974.

“MPKL issued a RM500 compound and a notice to the owner to demolish the structure but it was ignored.

MPKL said the toilet was built in 2022 and the local council’s Saujana Putra branch office had issued a warning in the same year.

The notice was reissued this year for the owner to demolish the structure.

When the owner failed to comply, the council proceeded with the demolition on Tuesday in the presence of its enforcement officers as well as personnel from the Bandar Saujana Putra police station.

MPKL council president Mohd Hasry Nor Mohd advised those planning to build a structure or renovate their building, to obtain council approval.
