STAKEHOLDERS in Ampang Jaya, Selangor, are encouraged to participate in an ongoing public inspection for the MRT3 or “Circle Line” which runs through the municipality.

Six stations will be developed in the area under the proposed alignment, which will require land acquisition.

An exhibition for the public inspection for the MRT3 project is currently underway, with one located at Menara MPAJ in Pandan Indah.

Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) president Dr Ani Ahmad said gazette notifications had been obtained from Gombak and Hulu Langat district and land offices for the mass rapid transit project.

“The MRT3 planned stations to be developed within MPAJ administrative area include the Setiawangsa, Keramat AU2, Tasik Ampang, Kampung Pandan, Pandan Indah, and Taman Kencana stations.

“The purpose of this exhibition is to inform the local community about the MRT3 project.

“The public is urged to visit the exhibition to gain a clear understanding of the planned route.

“They also have the opportunity to provide feedback directly to the MRT staff on duty,” she said during the council’s full board meeting.

The three-month public inspection exercise for MRT3 is aimed at getting public feedback on the project as it entered its final planning and development stages.

The exercise features detailed maps, site plans and project details in accordance with Section 84 of the Land Public Transport Act.

The public can inspect the alignment map until Dec 2 at 35 locations in the Klang Valley, comprising eight MRT Info Kiosks and 27 MRT Info Trucks at key sites.

Its construction is slated to begin in 2026, with the entire line anticipated to be fully operational by 2032.

On another matter, Ani said MPAJ had taken action against 507 property owners with assessment tax arrears.

“The Revenue Department has issued reminder letters to these owners who owe a total of RM3.57mil in assessment tax.

“The areas involved include Taman Kosas, Pandan Indah Industrial Area, and Taman Puncak Indah,” she said.

Ani also said that MPAJ had collected some RM72.3mil in current assessment taxes (as of Aug 31) and targeted to collect RM87.5mil this year.

The council, she said, was carrying out periodic operations against ratepayers who failed to pay assessment taxes for more than two years.

On Sept 7 and 11, operations were carried out at 23 premises in Pandan Indah to recover RM210,067 in taxes.
