Fast-food chain treats orphans for Mid-Autumn festival

Lantern colouring is among the fun activities for the children at some of the outlets nationwide.

Children from orphanages enjoyed lantern colouring activities, traditional games and meals to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival.

More than 30 selected McDonald’s outlets hosted them.

Laughter filled the atmosphere as they were entertained and encouraged in their appreciation of culture.

McDonald’s Malaysia managing director and local operating partner Datuk Azmir Jaafar said: “The Mid-Autumn Festival is a celebration of unity and joy – values at the heart of McDonald’s brand philosophy.

“As a locally-rooted organisation, McDonald’s Malaysia prioritises giving back to the community.”

This initiative was one of many under the “Community Programme @ McDonald’s and the Ronald McDonald House Charities Malaysia”.

McDonald’s Malaysia organises more than 19,000 community initiatives annually.

As part of these efforts, the fast-food chain is preparing for McDonald’s Community Month in October, during which birthday parties will be hosted for children from orphanages nationwide.

Other initiatives include celebrating Chinese New Year with seniors in old folk’s homes.
