Small neighbourhood-run Gombak garden thriving three years after its inception

A GOMBAK back lane in Taman Perwira, Selangor is continuing to be the pride of its residents.

Through this exemplary community garden known as “Garden 8”, neighbours from some 47 households have proven that a lot can be accomplished in a small gardening space.

A wide variety of vegetables and edible plants have been grown here since the garden was started in 2021.

Every last Sunday of the month, the residents host a Sunday market to sell food and garden produce from 8am to noon.

Sale profits are poured back into the upkeep of the community garden.

Everyone is invited to take a walk in Garden 8.

It is an opportunity for enthusiasts to gain insights and for the younger generation to learn about food sources.
