Sungai Bernam WTP resumes operation

THE Sungai Bernam Water Treatment Plant (Sungai Bernam WTP) has resumed full operations, says Air Selangor.

In a statement, they said that clean and safe treated water is gradually being supplied to consumers.

“The recovery percentage of water supply for the affected areas has reached 6.3%.

“Full recovery for the affected areas is expected by 12am on Aug 26, 2024 (Monday)”

“Alternative assistance through water tankers to the still-affected areas will continue, prioritising critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funeral services,” the Sunday (Aug 25) statement read.

It was reported Saturday (Aug 24) that the disruption was due to the temporary shutdown of the Sungai Bernam WTP following the high turbidity of raw water caused by a water surge at Sungai Bernam.
