Kicking off year with RM1.5mil donation to 100 homes

Beneficiary organisations from Klang Valley and Pahang received aid from Da Ma Cai at the launch in Petaling Jaya.

Da Ma Cai kick-started the Year of the Dragon with its Annual Community Aid Charity Programme that provides financial assistance to charitable organisations nationwide.

The programme’s launch took place at the premises of one of its beneficiary organisations – Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-kanak Cacat Taman Megah in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

A total of 38 charity bodies from Klang Valley received donations amounting to RM568,000 while four organisations in Pahang received a total of RM48,000 during the event.

This year, Da Ma Cai’s charity initiative marked a significant milestone as it launched, in January, a Chinese New Year charity drive “Give Luck Get Luck” Charity GO Package through its mobile betting channel dmcGO.

The charity drive involved the gaming company’s customers who jointly participated in raising funds for the homes.

“Holding on to the belief that by doing a good deed, one will be blessed with good luck, this charity drive was very well received among our customers.

“The company was able to increase its donations from RM1mil to RM1,448,000 to benefit 100 organisations,” said Da Ma Cai managing director Datuk Seri Tan Kong Han.

“It is truly a community programme, by the community and for the community.”

Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Cerdik chairman Jude Jasvin Joseph said, “As donations have decreased by 90%, the centre has no room to buffer rising food prices.

“We are very grateful for this kind and generous support from Da Ma Cai as this financial aid will serve us well for the betterment of our residents.

“It means a lot to us and even more to our residents.”

For the northern region, the presentation ceremony was held at Pertubuhan Pengurusan Rumah Warga Tua “Anning” Ipoh Perak (Bao En Shi) where 29 charitable organisations from Perlis, Kedah, Penang and Perak received a total of RM410,000.

In the southern region, 29 charitable organisations from Negri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor will receive RM422,000 during a presentation ceremony at Rumah Sejahtera Bukit Baru.

Da Ma Cai, through a wide range of programmes and activities, actively supports education and social welfare causes each year.
