RESIDENTS can now enjoy a newly refurbished park in Jalan SS1/21, Petaling Jaya.

The park underwent concurrent upgrades from two government agencies at a cost of RM169,553.

“The basketball and sepak takraw courts were refurbished under Selangor government’s Projek Selangor Penyayang (PSP) for RM84,484,” said Kampung Tunku assemblyman Lim Yi Wei.

“At the same time, Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) upgraded and repaired the playground area at a cost of RM85,069,” she said.

Works started in August last year and were completed last month.

“The upgrades to the playground addressed residents’ complaints,” said MBPJ Zone 20 councillor Ong Yew Thai.

“The works carried out included installing a new playground rubber mat, slide, benches and picnic table.”

Lim said PSP was an initiative by the state government for infrastructure upgrade and construction of public facilities, with each constituency receiving RM500,000 last year.

“While the details of this year’s PSP have not been outlined, each assemblyman uses 30% of their allocation for small projects.

“I am in the midst of consulting with stakeholders in my constituency, including schools and places of worship, to check if they need infrastructure upgrades,” said Lim.

She added that next month would be the submission deadline for small projects.
