A CITY council initiative in collaboration with a medical centre ensured some 80 residents from SS2, Petaling Jaya in Selangor, had the chance to undergo medical screenings.

Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) corporate communications assistant director Ahmad Iskandar Mohamad Mukhtar said the programme with Sunway Medical Centre (SMC) was part of the city council’s promotional effort towards a healthy lifestyle via its “Jom Sihat Health Camp”.

“It is being used to help identify non-communicable diseases, as we want people to prioritise their health,” Ahmad Iskandar said.

The free screenings included body composition, feet analysis, blood glucose, blood pressure and hypertension. The screenings were carried out by a six-person team from SMC.

The half-day event held at SS2B Rukun Tetangga Centre was attended by Kampung Tunku assemblyman Lim Yi Wei and MBPJ councillor Loh Y Lun.
