Ipoh mall offers magical experience

Elements of Ipoh Parade’s Fantasy Garden decor is highly symbolic for the Lunar New Year.

VISITORS to Ipoh Parade shopping centre are being welcomed by a Chinese-themed “Fantasy Garden” landscape.

In conjunction with Chinese New Year celebrations, the mall has been transformed by colourful lanterns and plum blossom trees.

Ipoh Parade advertising and promotions manager Lim Huey Tyng said they wanted to immerse shoppers in an enchanting visual experience.

“We have a sea of pink plum blossoms adorning the main court, inviting all who step into the mall to admire the setting.

“The plum blossom symbolises courage, hope and new life, because the tree is the first to bloom despite the cold weather.

“Enhancing this picturesque scene are lanterns hung on the plum blossom trees, creating a magical spectacle for all to enjoy.

“These lanterns, symbolising reunion and celebrations, illuminate the garden with a warm and inviting glow, shining forth in hope for a brighter and more successful year ahead,” she said.

Lim added that to complement the decorations, a host of activities were lined up.

“There are lion dance performances, balloon giveaways and God of Prosperity appearance,” she said.

Lim added that a Chinese New Year Talent Contest was held on Jan 21.

She said participants were allotted four minutes to show their musical talents on stage.

The champion, first runner-up and second-runner up won RM1,500, RM1,000 and RM500 worth of cash and prizes, respectively.

There were also five consolation prizes.
