Puchong landslide: Four cars extracted from site


The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has extracted the four cars that were swallowed in the landslide that occured on Dec 16 in Puchong.

In a statement Friday (Dec 22), MBSJ says they were committed to installing retaining sheet piles at the 150m landslide site, reaching a 40.26% completion by Thursday (Dec 21), in accordance with their timeline.

“The council takes this issue seriously, and is consistently working to enhance it by seeking the best methods for resolving the challenges at hand.

“Serdang police, in collaboration with the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, are monitoring the site around the clock and are looking out for any ground movements that could pose dangers or lead to a recurrence of adverse events.

“The public is strictly prohibited from entering the affected area, and homeowners seeking access are directed to report to the nearby police post.

“Various preventive measures and preparedness steps have been planned to address disasters, particularly within the administrative jurisdiction of the MBSJ.” the statement read.

On Dec 16, it was reported that four cars and nine houses were affected during the landslide at Taman Wawasan 3/9 in Pusat Bandar Puchong.
