GENERALI Group, one of the largest insurance and asset management providers in the world, has plans to set up another 25 branches across Malaysia.

Generali Insurance Malaysia Bhd chief executive officer Fabrice Benard, who is also country head for Generali Entities in Malaysia, said the expansion was part of the group’s effort to foster stronger relationships with its Malaysian customer base while enhancing services.

“We want to be closer to our customers. We strive to enable people to shape a safer and more sustainable future by caring for their lives and dreams,” Benard said during the launch of Generali’s first model branch in Seremban, Negri Sembilan.

The spanking new branch, located at Pusat Komersial Saujana in Seremban 2 Heights, was set up to better serve local folks with an integrated insurance experience, all conveniently accessible under one roof.

A strong believer that the insurance industry required the warmth of the human touch, Benard said Generali was devoted to advancing its omni-channel strategy to better serve customers via their preferred manner, be it through their servicing agent, branch or digital platform.

“In the coming year, our branches nationwide will model after the Seremban branch and progressively transform into multi-functional spaces to foster greater engagement and long-lasting relationships with our customers.

“We will also continue to invest in our digital touchpoints for customers’ easy accessibility and convenience,” he added.

Upon entering the Seremban branch, visitors are welcomed into a warmly lit reception area – the first step to accessing a full suite of general and life insurance, from medical and health to savings and life protection, motor and home, travel and personal accident as well as business and commercial insurance.

Its contemporary new look and set up is curated with elements of functionality, inclusiveness and technology, which highlights the insurer’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, innovation and customer centricity.

The open concept is designed to provide a collaborative setting for Generali’s employees and agents to work and engage together.

Both Generali’s general and life insurance branches at Seremban have also relocated to this new premises.

Benard encouraged customers to visit the branch for over-the-counter services, or engage in private conversations with dedicated servicing officers at the functional private discussion rooms available.

He shared that his inaugural visit to a Generali branch in Malaysia was in Seremban and recalled how the branch – which had served many customers – weathered the years.

“With the relocation and launch of this new premises, Generali has reinvented the design of its model branch to provide more experiential spaces and customer-focused experiences through phygital advisory and solutions,” he said.

Benard said Generali’s brand refresh strategy supported the transformation of its branches nationwide and catered to customers’ increasing demand for holistic yet personalised experience.

“Having served the locals here in Seremban for decades, we are very proud to continue on this meaningful journey to support the city with a unique yet integrated insurance experience, serving both general and life insurance solutions under one roof and, at the same time, advancing our sustainability commitment and providing job opportunities to the locals,” he added.

Generali Group chief marketing officer Isabelle Conner and Generali Life Insurance Malaysia Bhd chief executive officer Rebecca Tan were present at the event as well.

Noting that Malaysia was an important market segment, Conner said the group saw opportunity in Malaysia.

“We care for people’s lives and dreams here and look forward to helping them achieve them,” she said.

The Seremban branch opens Monday to Friday (except public holidays), from 8.45am to 5pm.

Since its establishment in 1831, the Generali Group has set up base in over 50 countries with 82,000 employees serving 68 million customers.

The group has made its presence known in Malaysia since 2015 when it acquired a 49% stake in Multi-Purpose Insurans Bhd – a P&C insurance subsidiary of Multi-Purpose Capital Holdings – to create MPI Generali.

Since then, it has transformed into Generali Malaysia – one of the largest general insurers and emerging life insurer in Malaysia backed by over 1,600 employees, more than 9,000 agents and partners and an extensive network of branches nationwide.

Now with an expanded scale, breadth and expertise, Generali Malaysia said it strived to further its ambition of being a trusted Lifetime Partner and a progressive insurer that safeguards the needs of Malaysians and their future generations.
