THE past week has been a busy one for monks, staff, devotees and volunteers at the Buddhist Maha Vihara Temple in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, as they prepare to celebrate Wesak Day today.

Devotees have cleaned the temple and its compound thoroughly and also decorated it with flowers and lanterns to commemorate the birth, enlightenment and death of Buddha.

Hundreds of oil lamps were also prepared for devotees to light up.

In addition, finishing touches were made to floats that will be taking part in the procession around the city this evening.

The procession is making a comeback after three years since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
