A NEW surau with ample parking space will be built at the Cameron Highlands district police headquarters in Brinchang, Pahang.

Property developer LBS Bina Group Bhd held a groundbreaking ceremony graced by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

The surau has a construction cost of RM5mil and a gross floor area of 6,016sq ft, including facilities.

The land size is 0.4ha, with a capacity of 200 people.

The new surau will feature a room for imam, an AV room, toilets, open courtyard, ablution pool, meeting room, mortuary room, parking for funeral vans, kitchen and a dining area.

It will have 62 parking spaces, including two for the disabled, and 15 motorcycle bays.

“We are honoured to have the Yang di-Pertuan Agong grace us with his presence at this groundbreaking ceremony.

“We are committed to delivering a space where the local Muslim community can come together for worship and community activities,” said LBS Bina executive chairman Tan Sri Lim Hock San.

He said the construction of the surau was part of LBS Bina’s corporate social responsibility efforts to create positive impacts in communities.

“We believe that providing such facilities will improve the community’s well-being and enhance the development of Cameron Highlands.

“The company recognises the importance of investing in the well-being of communities, aligning with our vision of ‘Empowering Individuals, Enhancing Community’,” he added.
