2,500 take part in education agency’s Silver Jubilee Run

THE National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) organised the PTPTN Silver Jubilee Run for the first time to mark its 25th year celebration.

Held at Anjung Floria, Putrajaya, the 5km fun run themed “Fit, Smart and Cheerful”, promoted the concept that overall health included the physical, mental and social aspects.

It was organised with the cooperation of Higher Education Ministry, Youth and Sports Ministry, Putrajaya Corporation as well as Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur Athletic Association (FTKLAA).

The recent run was one of the ways that PTPTN aimed to fulfil its corporate social responsibility objectives, by cultivating a healthy lifestyle through sports for all.

It was also held in appreciation of the customers’ support to PTPTN, an agency under Higher Education Ministry.

The event with a participation fee of RM25 attracted 2,500 participants, including children and the elderly, within three weeks of the registration opening.

The day’s activities started with a zumba exercise session before the run was flagged off by Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Mohammad Yusof Apdal.

Also present were the ministry’s secretary-general Datuk Seri Abdul Razak Jaafar, PTPTN chief executive Ahmad Dasuki Abdul Majid, the management board members, students from institutions of higher learning as well as strategic partners.

Other activities included a lucky draw with 10 prizes such as smart TV, bicycles, robot vacuums and watches.

There were also PTPTN booths, food trucks, health screenings and carnival games.
