Bins provided but littering problem still persists at fest


DESPITE efforts by Penang’s Arulmigu Balathandayuthapani Hilltop Temple management committee and NGOs to remind people to discard rubbish properly during Thaipusam, some litter was still seen on the streets the day after the festival.

Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) education officer NV Subbarow was disappointed to see empty plastic containers, drink boxes and fruits used for prayers strewn on the roads, under trees and in the drains.
