CONTINUOUS rain did not stop 200 riders from taking part in the “Ride with Hope 2.0” charity event by Malaysia Lysosomal Diseases Association (MLDA) and JCI Klang.
The event in Klang managed to raise RM7,000 in aid of 100 MLDA members in the country.
MLDA president Lee Yee Seng said he was grateful that the government would be increasing the budget for patients of rare diseases as their treatment was very costly.
Selangor industry and trade committee chairman Datuk Teng Chang Khim was also present to lend his support.
There were lucky draw and gifts sponsored by Eagle Security & Abus Malaysia, Cyriax Physio Rehab Centre, Security System Asia, WD 40 and Konan Kinzoku.
Next year, similar charity rides will be organised in Penang and Johor Baru to raise awareness about the struggles of patients with rare diseases.
Lee will also be joining next year’s Paris-Bres-Paris 1,200km challenge to help raise RM500,000 for the cause.
All donations will be tax exempted. Those interested can refer to the donation link at www.mymlda.com/index.php/79-mlda/72-ways-to-support
