Mah Sing Group Bhd once again won “Company of the Year for Excellent Sustainability Reporting and CSR Initiatives” in the property development category at the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards 2022.

The prestigious awards ceremony was launched by Rural Development Ministry secretary-general Datuk Ramlan Harun in Kuala Lumpur.

Mah Sing Group was recognised for its implementation of corporate responsibility initiatives that have a tangible and sustainable impact on the lives of children and local communities.

Mah Sing founder and group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum said, “It is such an honour that our CSR and sustainability efforts have been recognised for three years in a row.

“This recognition is a testament to our efforts to assist underserved communities, particularly children.

“It will motivate us to do more impactful activities for the communities to uplift their livelihood and eventually break out of the poverty cycle.

“Moving ahead, we will continue to focus on making an impact through CSR collaborations as well as green innovation in our property and manufacturing businesses.

“I wish to extend my greatest appreciation to our employees and our partner, Mah Sing Foundation,” Leong added.

Since 2005, Mah Sing has been a strong advocate for charitable causes involving children and families through Mah Sing Foundation, which oversees most of its community initiatives.

In 2021, Mah Sing Group and Mah Sing Foundation contributed more than RM1.3mil and assisted some 27 schools and NGOs, reaching out to more than 49,000 individuals.

Mah Sing employees also contributed RM54,000 worth of examination gloves and groceries for frontliners from seven hospitals in the Klang Valley managing the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition, Mah Sing has been running several programmes to uplift the lives of B40 communities, in line with its three key pillars – education, health and wellbeing, and community development.

In terms of sustainability, environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria are practised by the company’s three divisions – property development, plastics and healthcare.
