THE Penang government has warned traders and retailers not to exploit the Chinese New Year festive season by increasing prices of essentials and food items.
State trade, industry and entrepreneurial development committee chairman Datuk Abdul Halim Hussain said traders and retailers should adhere to the fixed ceiling price under the Festive Season Maximum Price Control Scheme (SHMMP) or face action by the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP).
