SIBU: The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department has warned businesses that it will not hesitate to revoke their Fire Certificate (FC) if the fire systems at their premises are found to be faulty.

Department director Khirudin Drahman @ Husaini said the FC was an important document to ensure a building was safe to occupy.“The FC stipulates that the building must be safe and people can get out quickly in the event of a fire, with sprinklers and smoke detectors in working condition,” he said at the Zone 4 Fire Certificate presentation ceremony to 15 business owners here.
