IN LINE with its tag line, “Reinvent Spaces. Enhance Life,” Mah Sing Group Bhd has rolled out a four-part National Day video series honouring Malaysians who have reinvented their lives following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mah Sing founder and group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum said, “The pandemic has affected all of us and Mah Sing is no different.
“We also had to change and reinvent the way we did business.
“We draw strength from resilient Malaysians, especially those who have had to diversify their income source to make ends meet.
“As we look around today, we can see that the rakyat is striving forward and trying their best to survive during these challenging times, which gives us hope to continue reinventing and growing.
“In conjunction with Merdeka, Mah Sing is honouring the men and women affected by the pandemic in this four-part video series named ‘The Fighting Spirit –- Spirit of Reinvention,’ which highlights their determination.
“The video series showcases ordinary Malaysians overcoming the hardships of life with hard work, dedication, and most importantly, facing adversity with courage.
“So far, we have released the first three parts of the series and the fourth and final installation is scheduled to go live on Aug 28.
“The final part of the video will encapsulate the entire journey of the rakyat in overcoming challenges in life and how Mah Sing, as a responsible property developer, is playing our part to rise above the challenges together as a nation,” said Leong.
Fighting Fit is about Chin Jie Xun, 33, who is now working at Pasar Borong Selayang. Formerly a gym instructor, he lost his job due to the movement control order.
“I see it as an opportunity to earn while keeping myself fit through the hard physical labour involved in doing this job,” said Chin.
Going the Extra Mile recounts how Azlan Abu Bakar, 30, was a factory engineer before the company he worked for was affected by Covid-19 and he was retrenched, forcing him to venture into food delivery.
“It is not easy when you take up a job that is totally different from your previous industry. But it is the only way for me to make a living at this point in time,” he said.
Pushing the Boundaries is about Shanti Ganesan, 55, who was previously a senior manager in a travel company but now works in a hypermarket after the company closed down due to the pandemic.
“After spending almost my entire career in the tourism industry, I have now become a grocery store worker so that I can feed my family,” she said.
Mah Sing is celebrating National Day in partnership with Maybank Islamic HouzKey. It is offering an alternative home financing solution, which enables housebuyers to own selected projects easily with a financing plan that is easy on the wallet.
