THE Lavaa X Exhibition by the Langkawi Artist Visual Art Association (Lavaa) is being held from now until July 30.
A total of 30 paintings and sculptures by 17 members of the association is being shown at the National Art Gallery of Langkawi (NAG@Langkawi) at Dayang Walk Commercial Square, Kuah.
Director of NAG@Langkawi, Mohd Fairus Ismail, said the exhibition was the latest tourism product with artistic elements on the island.
“This exhibition is to mark the association’s 10th anniversary,” he told reporters.
Mohd Fairus said entrance is free from Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm.
“The exhibition also received the cooperation of National Visual Arts Development Board and Langkawi Development Authority,” he said.
Mohd Fairus said that apart from the Lavaa X Exhibition, NAG@Langkawi also organised the ‘Malaysiana - Capture The Moments of Malaysia’ photography exhibition which has been going on since July 5.
“This photography exhibition highlights the unity and colourful diversity of the various races of the people in Malaysia in general and in Langkawi specifically, through the creativity of photography art.
“It is a collective manifesto involving 23 photographers who were connected to rare moments of time that resulted in beautiful and amazing works,” said Mohd Fairus. — Bernama
