JOHOR BARU: The number of cats and dogs abandoned by their owners here is on the upward trend during the movement control order (MCO).

Companion Animal Rescue Effort Society (Cares) chairman Joseph Lai said the increase in the number of abandoned pets was between 15% and 20%.
