IN every crisis, there are new opportunities and hope, and families should take advantage of the movement control order period to spend quality time together, said Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail.
“With online technology, all sorts of family activities can be done at home, ” he said, adding that information from the Internet was easily accessed nowadays through the handphone.
In a statement issued on Friday, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said video conferencing and emails would easily allow employees to take the ‘work-from-home’ approach while applications like WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Zoom and other social media channels could also be fully utilised.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin also advised parents to guide their children on how best to use online technology and to help their children search for useful videos to watch at home.
He said parents should always monitor what their children are doing at home so that the technology is not abused.
He also urged the public who can afford it to make online contributions to needy people during the MCO period through agencies which have been recognised by the Government.
He warned the public not to misuse online technology to cause panic.
“The public should not spread fake news as this can lead to confusion, ” Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said.
“It is also an offence to spread the personal information of Covid-19 patients who are still undergoing treatment.” — Bernama
