Spectacular Chap Goh Meh celebration in Seremban township

SEREMBAN 2 (S2) residents were treated to a spectacular fireworks display and entertaining activities to celebrate Chap Goh Meh.

The fireworks and entertainment were among the highlights of Reunion in S2 with Joys Anew organised by developer IJM Land Bhd at City Park, Seremban 2, to commemorate the 15th and final day of the lunar new year.

The evening kicked off with cultural dance performances which put the crowd in a celebratory mood.

This was followed by a 24 Seasons Drum performance by students from SMJK Chan Wa Seremban and a thrilling LED high-pole lion dance.

Other attractions included a concert, street food bazaar and to mark the Year of the Rat, a meet-and-greet session with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.

Guests also participated in giveaways and games such as Chinese riddles.

The Chap Goh Meh celebrations organised by IJM Land in Seremban 2 culminated in a fireworks display.

IJM Land senior general manager (Central Region) Datuk Hoo Kim See said the annual Chap Goh Mei event gave IJM employees and residents the opportunity to get to know one another whilst enjoying fun activities.

“We always look forward to celebrating this festive season with our Seremban 2 residents as it is a way to engage and communicate with them.

“Since we live in a multiracial community, it is our utmost priority to foster strong community relations through festive occasions.

“We hope that by organising such events, we can give every individual the opportunity to have a meaningful celebration,

while ushering in the new year with a more positive outlook, ” he said.

In light of the Covid-19 outbreak, IJM Land also took measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all present by providing them with hand sanitisers and face masks.
