Temple to set new record with longer garland

Priests busy preparing for the consecration ceremony at Arulmigu Karumariamman Temple in Seberang Jaya on Monday.

IN conjunction with its second Maha Kumbabhishegam (grand consecration ceremony), Arulmigu Karumariamman Temple in Jalan Todak, Seberang Jaya, hopes to better the Malaysia Book of Records for the longest garland that it had set in 2003.

Temple chairman V. Amareson said the 129m new garland, which is much longer than the previous 107m, would be placed at the raja goburam (monumental tower) this Sunday, a day before the consecration on Monday.
