19,000 cops yet to receive medals due to constraints


MELAKA: Police will speed up the Pingat Jasa Pahlawan Negara (PJPN) medal delivery process to eligible serving members and retirees.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said about 19,000 policemen and 135,000 retirees had yet to receive the PJPN medals which was awarded for bravery, and their sacrifices and service to the nation.He said budget constraints and the power to bestow the PJPN, which was limited to certain individuals, were the reasons for the medal delivery process taking a long time.
