AN evening downpour failed to deter thousands of Perakians from attending the recent state-level Deepavali open house at SMK Buntong, Ipoh.

People came in droves as early as 3.30pm while waiting for the arrival of Perak Council of Regency chairman Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, who was the guest of honour.
