Look out for street performances by Soka Gakkai at i-City tomorrow


Soka Gakkai Malaysia Selangor branch will be among the performers at the “Terima Kasih Malaysia” Hari Kebangsaan 2018 countdown celebration at i-City, Shah Alam

PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be present at the celebration which is from 8.30pm onwards on Aug 30.

Some 200 youth performers from Soka Gakkai Malaysia Selangor branch will present street performances comprising multiracial dances, lion and dragon dance, percussions and marching band, depicting a youthful and dynamic Malaysia shining in unity amid diversity.

The performances will be held in three sessions – at 9pm, 10pm and 11pm respectively.

Since its inception in 1984, SGM has actively participated in various state and national-level events such as the 16th Commonwealth Games held in Kuala Lumpur in 1998 and National Day celebrations.

In a statement, Soka Gakkai Malaysia Selangor said, “We believe cultural exchanges help our creative potential as human beings bloom, and form a golden bridge between people.

“We participate in various cultural events such as cultural festivals, local and international cultural exchanges and art talks to encourage the blossoming of culture and build a society of genuine and lasting peace.”
