Artful mission to save the tiger

EVEN in black and white, Monica Lee’s tiger artworks look so lifelike that the largest of the world’s big cats look ready to pounce off the painting frame.

“I used graphite pencil and charcoal on paper as my medium, and employed a scratching technique to produce the tigers’ fur detailing,” said Lee, whose style of drawing emphasises the details and textures of her subjects.
