Confusion leads to 3km crawl with huge crowd hopeful of citizenship


A WRONGLY translated message on social media led to hoards of stateless, and red and green identity card holders descending on the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) office thinking they could change their citizenship status.

The office in Jalan Kepong was deluged with stateless people as well as temporary and permanent residents who complained to Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng that their applications for citizenship were rejected by the National Registration Department for various reasons.
