It just gets better for Teh

KOMTAR assemblyman Teh Lai Heng has a huge task ahead after being appointed the political secretary of Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.

But the 38-year-old is no stranger to such position. He was Chow’s political secretary from 2008 to 2011 when the latter was Penang DAP chairman.

“I have been helping Chow in political-related matters.

“It’s an honour to be given such a responsibility and I hope to carry out the task to the best of my ability.

“I am quite new to the Chief Minister’s office.

“I will have to familiarise myself with the new full-time job and run my service centre at the same time,” he said.

Yesterday, Teh was sworn in during the state executive council meeting witnessed by state secretary Datuk Seri Farizan Darus, state legal adviser Datuk Anas Ahmad Zakie and state financial officer Datuk Sarul Bahiyah Abu.

Teh graduated with a financial management degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2010 via distance learning.

He was Penang Island City councillor from 2011 to April 2013 before becoming Komtar assemblyman the same year.

He is also Tanjong DAP division secretary and Padang Kota DAP branch chairman.
