The Selangor Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) under the Prime Minister’s Department will look into any requests for applications or contributions for the Petaling Jaya parliamentary constituency.
This will be in addition to services provided by the PKR branch chief, assemblymen and councillors, said Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil during the Program MADANI Kita (PMK) Kota Anggerik @ Shah Alam at Dewan Melati, Section 7, Shah Alam.
He said this when asked to comment on the resignation of Lee Chean Chung, who announced his decision to resign as the Petaling Jaya Member of Parliament without conditions, effective Friday (Oct 2).
He announced the decision during a press conference on Friday (Oct 2) and said he would submit his resignation letter as a PKR member on Monday (Oct 5).
“The PKR party branch will coordinate matters... good luck to him (Lee Chean Chung),” said Fahmi.
It was earlier reported that on Sept 30, Lee received a decision that his membership had been suspended for three years, and he had received the official letter confirming the decision.
“As such, I have made the decision to resign (as the Petaling Jaya MP) without any conditions,” said Lee during a press conference.
Lee also met Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul on Thursday (Oct 1) to inform him of the matter.
He also cited several issues he had championed, including the Urban Renewal Act, the monopoly in Malaysia’s foreign worker management system, as well as the Sales and Service Tax (SST), as possible reasons for his suspension.
At the event, Fahmi said one of the apps that is most useful to the public is the PriceCatcher app, which is provided free of charge by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry.
"I have urged everyone to make use of the app by downloading it to find goods at prices that best suit their respective needs," he said.
He added that the government had also developed the MyGovMalaysia.
“This app brings together numerous applications and services from various ministries in one app.
"Users can access information about their driving licence, passport and any summons they may have from the Road Transport Department (JPJ) or the police," Fahmi said.
