LADY luck was definitely on Muna Najib Rafee’s side when she won a return air ticket to London.
The online business operator was the grand prize winner of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair March 2018 Buyers’ Contest.
“I believe that visualisation can win you anything! lt worked for me,” said the overjoyed Muna, who had visualised a trip abroad.
Muna, 43, together with her sister had bought two rail passes worth over RM600 during the MATTA Fair to travel in Japan.
“Last year, I won a lucky draw in the Caring Mum contest for a trip to Japan and now, I got a London trip,” she said.
Muna, a regular visitor at the fair, added that she had bought a ticket to Amsterdam and Iceland last year.
The Buyers’ Contest was held in conjunction with MATTA Fair held at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) last month.
She was among 25 lucky winners for the International category. The grand prize was courtesy of Malaysia Airlines. Visitors had to spend a minimum of RM300 on an international package or RM100 on a domestic travel package to be eligible for the contest.
The contest offered prizes worth RM85,000, of which the Domestic category saw 14 winners bringing home travel vouchers, domestic flight tickets and adventure packages. Other prizes included outbound flight tickets, tour packages and Mpay Matta Mastercard prepaid cards.
MATTA president Datuk Tan Kok Liang said the number of contestants that participated in the contest was encouraging.

“Based on the summary report of the MATTA Fair Buyers’ Contest, the leading domestic destinations are Negri Sembilan, followed by Selangor, Johor, Terengganu and Kuala Lumpur.
“For international destinations, it was Japan, China, South Korea, Britain and Turkey,” he said.
“We expect to improve travel packages and buying experience, so save your money for the September fair,” he said during the prize presentation ceremony in Kuala Lumpur.
Meanwhile, mechanic Chan Choon Seng, 30, who was accompanied by his wife, tuition teacher May Yuen, 29, won the RM5,000 travel voucher in the contest.
“I did not expect to win the voucher, but I feel blessed and very lucky now.
“I can spend the voucher for a trip to Melaka with my family during the next school holiday,” said the father of two.
Chan said he had bought a two-day hotel package to visit Melaka and tickets to various places of attractions, qualifying him for the domestic entry.
MATTA Fair March 2018 attracted about 110,000 visitors with an estimated total sales value of RM210mil.
The next MATTA Fair will be held from Sept 7 to 9 at PWTC.
