Sarawak fares better on SPM


KUCHING: Sarawak has recorded an overall improvement in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations, scoring 5.17 in National Average Grade (GPN) compared to 5.34 in 2016. State Education director Rakayah Madon said the improvement in the state GPN for last year’s examinations was also reflected from the increased number of candidates who qualified for the SPM certificate.

Of the total 33,778 candidates who sat for the national examinations, 28,108 or 83% managed to obtain their certificates with a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and History subjects as the minimum requirement.
