More hotels are welcoming pets, usually dogs and cats, making it easier to bring your furry companion along on your travels.
To celebrate International Dog Day, which falls on Aug 26 every year, Avani Hotels & Resorts is highlighting its pet-friendly stays across its properties in several countries such as Thailand, Laos and the Netherlands.
From now till Aug 30, participating premises will offer dog-friendly rooms, treats, food bowls, outdoor spaces and access to nearby walking routes.
At Avani+ Hua Hin Resort in Thailand, for example, selected rooms and pool villas come with dog-friendly packages, while Avani+ Khao Lak Resort provides pet amenities like beds, toys and treats.
In the Netherlands, meanwhile, Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam offers a city stay for four-legged guests, so owners can explore the capital with their pets.
Aside from Avani properties, some hotels in Malaysia are also opening their doors to guests with pets.
Whether it's a weekend getaway in Kuala Lumpur or an island exploration in Penang, pet owners don't have to leave their pets behind. Capri by Fraser Bukit Bintang in KL and Noordin Mews in Penang are among the properties listed as being pet friendly.
Additionally, Langkawi's Temple Tree Resort in Kedah also welcomes both cats and dogs at its Estate House. Sabah's Citadines Waterfront in Kota Kinabalu allows guests to bring pets with additional charges.
Other parts of the region are also following suit, such as Singapore and Vietnam.
