A popular hub for so-called expats working in sectors such as education and energy, the six oil-rich member-states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are set to make travel within the bloc easier by late 2025 with the introduction of a “unified” tourist visa.

The GCC is made up of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and 2022 World Cup host Qatar. Some of the biggest attractions in the GCC include the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, and the Burj Al-Arab in the UAE’s Dubai, and the Muslim-only pilgrimage site Mecca in Saudi Arabia.
