Tourism Malaysia's theme song for its ongoing Cuti-Cuti Malaysia campaign was officially launched at a running event in Kuala Lumpur last weekend, which was held in conjunction with this year's Federal Territories Day celebrations.

The programme organised by Tourism Malaysia and in collaboration with Persatuan Rekreasi Wilayah Malaysia (PRWM) was held at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) square, and attracted over 5,000 participants.

The theme song, Inilah Masanya, Cuti-Cuti Malaysia, was composed by Ananth Kumar and sung by Nik Qistina, with lyrics by James Boyle. The song popped up sometime in January on the agency's social media channels, and has garnered positive feedback from both Malaysians and foreigners.

Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said the campaign's tagline "Inilah Masanya" ("now is the time") manifested a call to Malaysians to continue to support the domestic tourism industry in order to remain competitive following the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Besides having a good run and breathing fresh air, this programme indirectly promotes a healthy lifestyle among locals as well as tourists through sports, recreation, art and culture activities.

"Through this campaign, it is hoped that more Malaysians will travel across the various states to contribute to the local economy," Tiong said in a statement released by Tourism Malaysia. The minister was also present at the weekend event.

He flagged off the participants of the 7km fun run event along the Kuala Lumpur Car-Free Morning route. Also present were the ministry’s secretary-general Datuk Saraya Arbi, Tourism Malaysia director-general Datuk Zainuddin Abdul Wahab and DBKL executive director (management) Khairul Anuar Mhd Juri representing the Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Mahadi Che Ngah.

The Inilah Masanya, Cuti-Cuti Malaysia campaign focuses on the family and millennial markets by highlighting products and tourist destinations which include fun family activities, eco-tourism, islands and beaches, shopping and culture and heritage activities.

The Federal Territories Day celebration also featured the Me & Mycity travel fair at Dataran Mereka, offering attractive tour packages.

Among the exhibitors that participated in the Tourism Malaysia pavilion this time were Menara Kuala Lumpur, the Association of Malaysian Spas (AMSPA), Premier Hotels & Resorts and Farhan Travel & Tours. – Bernama
