There's a new theme park in Malaysia and it promises visitors a splashing good time!

The SplashMania waterpark is located at Bandar Gamuda Cove in Banting, Selangor, about 40 minutes' drive from KL Sentral on a good day (traffic-wise, that is). It is officially opened today (Feb 6).

The park has as many as 39 water slides and rides, and an expansive list of F&B and retail outlets too.

During a preview of the park last week, we got to try a handful of the slides, surfs and rides. One of the top activities was the Shaka Waka, a 78m-long multimedia and audio waterslide. This slide comes with immersive light and sound effects, which definitely elevates the experience.

Another fun slide is the Maniac Race, where you get to race with friends or other thrill-seeking strangers.

The Atlantis VR, meanwhile, is a must-try waterslide where you will be fitted with a virtual reality headgear prior to sliding down a 250m-long journey through the Lost City of Atlantis.

If you're not a fan of giant water slides, then head over to the "beach", where you will find a 45m-long ship docked nearby. You can swim in the water, or hop on any of the smaller slides located inside the ship.

Visitors will also be entertained by the park's four adorable mascots – Omba'King, Zoomi, Max and Swaggy B.

Grab a bite at the cafe, which serves a variety of food and drinks or take a breather at any of the resting huts located around the park.

There are attendants who will keep an eye on your belongings while you take part in any of the activities. Lifeguards are also stationed at every attraction.

This park comes equipped with plenty of other facilities such as a prayer room, changing rooms, lockers to store your items, family rooms (where you will find nappy changing stations and other amenities) and shower stalls.

You can get your tickets from the SplashMania website, the Gamuda Land GL Play app or over the counter at the park itself.
The park also has a playground for younger kids who are not too keen on trying the bigger slides and rides.
