After weeks of wild rumours, it was finally announced last month that Jonathan Anderson is exiting Loewe.

He has been the creative director of the label for more than a decade, and the move thus heralds a big change in his career.

What he leaves behind however, is a trail of celebrity looks – each one as wonderfully playful as can be.

Anderson’s vision is that of unbridled youthfulness. He just doesn’t seem too hung up on following rules and instead prefers to experiment with unconventional silhouettes, colours and detailing.

From red carpet events to campaigns, concert tours and more, he has dressed a diverse mix of famous people.

Anderson has also made his mark as a costume designer. His most notable work in this regard is for 2024’s Challengers, where he formed a creative relationship with celebrated film director Luca Guadagnino.

When he joined Loewe in 2013, he was still a relatively unknown name. Yet, the man managed to generate a cult following over the years.

It is widely accepted that he turned around Loewe’s fortunes – helping it break out from being just an indie label, and forging it into one of fashion’s most coveted.

Anderson’s departure has not quelled speculation within the industry, though.

There are now furious whispers being heard asking which brand he will help transform next.
