With the conclusion of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival last weekend, photos of outfits worn by attendees are flooding social media.
The two consecutive weekends that made up the feel-good event held in Indio, California, unofficially kicked off the summer festival season, where festival-goers flood outdoor venues in “Instagrammable” looks to enjoy hours of music, art installations and activities.
Malaysia has its fair share of festivals like Pinkfish Music and Arts Festival, Sunset by Neon 2024 and Loop Music Festival 2024, but even so, the styles can also be incorporated for daily wear.
Crochet chic
There’s no time like the present to dig into your wardrobe for that vintage crochet set your grandma wore in the 1970s post-Woodstock, as the stylish and breathable style is super popular right now.
Crochet pieces, be they matching sets or in crop top form or even maxi dresses, are everywhere this festival season.
In addition to its vintage-inspired appeal, crochet styles are versatile as they can be styled to look sporty, sultry or ultra feminine depending on what you pair them with.

Boots on

If you’re planning on trudging through grass and potentially mud over an entire weekend, sturdy boots are your best bet on the style meets practicality front.
For inspo, check out Lana Del Rey’s Coachella performance where she rocks a pair of Christian Louboutin knee-high boots.
To stay comfortable the entire day, choose a low-heeled or flat biker boot, perhaps a statement piece that comes up to mid-thigh with buckle details.
A little bit country
While Beyonce may not be wholly responsible for the current obsession with countrycore, its arguable that her recent album release has had some impact on current style trends.
Breathing new life into country music, she is also going out with her fashion picks.
Recently pictured wearing a custom black leather jacket with studs from Louis Vuitton complete with cowboy hat, the artiste has been flooding social media with countrycore looks to die for.
Cowboy hats are a festival staple for sure, as they are great for keeping the sun out of your face.
Countrycore also includes “Western” elements such as tanned leather attire, plaid print, vests, tassels and fringe, studs and boot cut jeans.
Denim on denim
Whether you pair a vest with jeans or matching top and bottom, wearing double denim is a great way to rock up to your next festival.
Other denim staples for outdoor events include cut-off shorts, jeans, jackets and shirts, and it’s the easiest trend to try out as most people will have at least one denim piece in their wardrobe.
Swimwear as outerwear

You can also try the other way around, by wearing swimmers with a T-shirt or sheer beach cover, and don’t forget to throw on chunky accessories and a chic sun hat to complete the look.

Keep your valuables close
If you’re going to be out and about all day, you probably want an accessible item like a convenient bag to sling across your body or a large tote to keep all your essentials with you.
Don’t feel like carrying much of anything apart from your identity card and phone? Then pick out a cute crossbody or fanny pack that’s whimsical and functional.
Essential add-ons
Finally, don’t forget to accessorise to accentuate your entire look, be it with chunky rings, loads of beads or leather accessories.
And no festival look is complete without a stylish pair of shades, to elevate your overall outfit and to also provide protection for your eyes.
