It took 14 days to finish and 1224 mixed square panels of Malay black songket, Chinese white dragon brocade and Indian white brocades to transform into an unbelievable chess piece dress to match a chess board.
Yes, we're talking about the viral music video Ku Ikhlaskan launched yesterday by celebrity cosmetics entrepreneur Datuk Seri Hasmiza Othman better known as Vida.
The music video is a chaotic whirl of different backgrounds and extravagant costumes to the tune of Vida singing to a handsome young man whose outfits occasionally matched hers in colour.
And it's not just extravagant in looks, according to Kel Wen, the designer of Behati, the local brand that made the costumes, the fabrics were equally expensive with the use of sequins, brocade, velvet and silk taffetas.
Wen, whose favourite look is the red heart from the chess piece outfit, says it cost up to RM15,000.
There were altogether eight costumes and it was also a collaborative effort with the crowns custom made by local hat designer Bremen Wong.
Wen, who also directed the video says that after Behati went viral with its black rose dress customised for singer/actress Aina Abdul’s Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian (ABPH) red carpet, Vida started following his personal account.

"The designs are all originally mine, with collaborative advice from the stylist. DSV is more involved in the storyline of the video, as it’s about her personal past relationship, she knows what narrative suits best, she gave me the chess game and the red paint on frame idea to begin with."
The music video is intended to invite viewers to donate to needy people and has already hit 1.3 million viewers and it's still rising.
Vida, whose real name is Datuk Seri Hasmiza Othman, is the founder of Vida Beauty Sdn. Bhd. and beauty product Pamoga.
She is well known for her controversial episodes ranging from several hit singles to looking for a handsome man to be her PA where she was willing to pay RM10,000.
She also has 2.8 million followers on Instagram, proof that she knows how to draw in the crowd.
