Demi Lovato undergoes edgy evolution... with her hair

To debut her new look in a teaser image, American singer and actress Demi Lovato posted on her Instagram "I did a thing".

Crediting her hairstylist and colourist Amber Maynard Bolt for the hair transformation, Lovato poses with her back exposing half of her head shaved, in an undercut style, showing black roots offset with longer strands of blonde hair.

With half her head shaved in an undercut style, Lovato is looking totally cool in a pink glittery pantsuit.

In response to Lovato's post, Australian model Ruby Rose replied "Yes you did!!!", while angelakritikos added "Loving this new era already".

And, Tiffthornton jumps onto the Instagram reaction of Lovato's new hair look with "Me seeing everyone else realise you can pull off ANY look while I've known it for YEARS".

While we are used to seeing Lovato in her luscious black or sometimes blonde waist-length hair, we can definitely get used to seeing her in this cool shaved pixie look.

Explaining on her Instagram this drastic hair transformation for Lovato, Bolt said,"Got to do something really

special for this one @ddlovato. There is something about changing your hair so drastically that allows you to own yourself in a way you never thought!"

Known for her award-winning songs Sorry Not Sorry, Heart Attack and Skyscraper, the 28-year-old singer and songwriter, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, has also been transparent about her mental health and addiction journey.

And, who knows, this overhaul of her look may just be a way for Lovato to express a new personal journey.
