The bucket hat no longer a questionable fashion accessory

Long considered an accessory for those with questionable taste, the bucket hat has mostly lingered on the outer fringes of fashion. For this year however, fashion icons have embraced it – raising its profile to that of a must-have accessory.

While it has made an appearance on runways numerous times over the past years, the headgear is really coming into its own this year.

Kylie Jenner, considered to be one of the most influential fashion icon (also the highest paid celebrity), has adopted the bucket hat for 2020.

Naturally, she opted for reinvention in a futuristic half-transparent and very narrow version. This creative take proves that the bucket hat is more modern and stylish than ever.

American model Emily Ratajkowski has been spotted wearing a variety of bucket hats to complete her looks this season. Fellow model Candice Swanepoel shows the same enthusiasm.

Swanepoel, who hails from South Africa, modernised the bucket hat with a casual, Jamaican vibe. She wore it with a one-piece swimsuit and flat sandals, accessorised with hoop earrings.

Even French fashion icons have stepped up to make the bucket hat the season's it-accessory. Model Nabilla Benattia paired her ultra-luxe version from Prada with a poppy-red swimsuit and lipstick. – AFP Relaxnews
