Should you include tie-dyes into your everyday wardrobe again?

Brands like Victoria's Secret (left) and TropicofC have been seen incorporating the colourful print in their designs again.

Ultra-popular in the 1970s, and thereafter revived to suit the times in the 1980s and 1990s, over the last few decades tie-dye has been a regular inclusion in fashion wardrobes.

Now it appears that this season will see a major resurgence in this ultra-colourful and psychedelic look, as evidenced by current street styles and a plethora of posts by Instagram fashion icons.

Model Jasmine Sanders has jumped on the tie-dye bandwagon, featured in a number of her recent posts on Instagram. She was seen opting for a very high-cut bikini with a bandeau top in pink and white tie-dye, which is likely to cause a stir on the beach.

Another model, another style. Candice Swanepoel chose warm tones for a tie-dye T-shirt, which she wears as a crop top.

Colour-wise, it features a mix of red, yellow, black and white, which is in stark contrast to her check swimsuit. The print mix and match that might well work in other outfits as well as on the beach.

Brazilian model Alessandra Ambrosio is particularly fond of tie-dye clothes that are mainly inspired by 1990s and street fashion looks.

Recently, she shared a short video of a choreography created with her daughter, in which they both wear tie-dye sweatshirts in sober natural colours. A charming moment of complicity between the generations.

As those who keep a close eye on the Puerto Rican top model have no doubt noticed, Joan Smalls already embraced the trend for tie-dye a few months ago.

As early as October, she was seen wearing this pale pink hoodie with a brightly colored tie-dye hood that mixed yellow, red and blue. The piece is perfect for those who appreciate tie-dye in small doses.

The latest celebrity to take the plunge with tie-dye is the British singer and fashion icon Dua Lipa.

The 24-year-old was spotted wearing a sophisticated reinterpretation of the legendary print with a multitude of colors worthy of an abstract painting. A daring look that is the perfect complement to her black and red hair. – AFP Relaxnews
